Four in the Top 50: Energus Battles WorldTeams at Gooikse Pijl
On September 20, the Flemish roads played host to the 2026 edition of Gooikse Pijl (UCI 1.1), spanning 195.8 kilometers of relentless pacing and high-speed positioning. Lining up alongside nine UCI WorldTeams and elite ProTeams, Lithuanian squad Energus Cycling Team demonstrated remarkable cohesion in an unrelenting 46 km/h peloton.
The race concluded in a ferocious mass bunch sprint. Estonian sprinter Rait Ärm spearheaded the effort, slicing through the final straight to capture 20th place. Right behind him, the entire Energus squad crossed in rapid succession, placing five riders inside the top 50 (Rokas Adomaitis 41st, Marceli Pera 42nd, Mārtiņš Pluto 46th, and Kārlis Klismets 50th).
